What was the PDPLA doing 30 years ago?

From founder member and former chair Irene Strange, when asked about the current HMO witch hunt , "HOW WE STRUGGLED  IN THOSE EARLY  DAYS, Twenty weeks sometimes  without payment  to claimants or Landlords  of HMO's "

"I remember  how I led a Placarded Demo around  the Guildhall Square with Both Landlords  and  Claimants, in order  to make PCC  pay out  the Housing Benefits rents  before Landlords went Bust and claimants  were actually  back out  ' on the street' .

We won our  rights  and were paid  out  forthwith.

It was a really long hard struggle in those days.

Is it any better today I wonder. ???."
