A quiet month generally on the news front even though it has been the busiest month of the year for our student landlords – how have the new halls affected you, we would love to hear…

We have included in full our response to the Local Plan consultation in Portsmouth (Havant are not having a Local Plan as they are within 10% of the target PUSH allocated them). Thanks to all of our members who got involved and submitted content or helped in the review process – we were worried that with such a diverse membership we would struggle to come to a clear position but it was surprisingly straightforward, we as a group believe the PRS is undervalued and ill-supported, shared housing is a particular need which current policies are not serving and if 14-18 thousand new houses are to be built, then we really need a plan that includes infrastructure in all of its forms.

If you do not have time to review all of the input, do read the quote at the top of the article from Douglas Haig in Cardiff – it confirms the importance of the PRS, particularly shared housing, to the city as a whole.

We have also added a couple of articles, one on Capital Gains Tax as it continues to surprise us how misunderstood this area is and also, one on Affordable Housing as we are fed up at the doublespeak on the subject - politicians and the public both demanding more but talking completely at cross purposes. Hopefully our simple explanation will help, along with our suggestions to solve this particular problem.

If you have not heard - we have moved!  See below and do read to the end to hear more about Charlotte's developing business in her blog.
