Landlord Tip Of The Month - June

From a member:   "thought I might share with you our experiences at the house in Hudson Road.  As you know it has been having a major revamp - we had damp in various parts of the house and in the course of the rebuilding etc. discovered that over the years previous owners had put all their rubbish (bricks, building rubble, etc. etc. ) under the floorboards - there was even the remains of a motorbike under the floor in the understairs loo.  Obviously landlords cannot do what we have done in the few weeks in between tenants, but if replacing carpets etc. a quick look under the floors might yield quite a few surprises.  All the modern improvements to these old houses does indeed lead to condensation etc. but they were built to have an air flow underneath the floors also!  Unfortunately we did not discover any hidden treasure, but on the plus side no skeletons either! "
