Green Home Grant - Solid Wall Insulation Available

SolidWallInsulation

Portsmouth City Council have secured £3.1 million to fund solid wall insulation in Portsmouth, Gosport, and other surrounding areas. This funding is part of the Government's Green Home Grant scheme, but offers a direct link to installer. The local scheme (under the LADS umbrella - Local Authority Delivery Scheme) is run in partnership with Agility Eco, who have quality checked and on-boarded installers to support the scheme. Applying for the funding through the PCC scheme should avoid previous issues securing an installer to complete the works (as we have heard many have had issues through the voucher strand of the GHG scheme).

Who Can Apply?

The scheme is open to private tenants, with landlord consent and contribution required. Eligibility applies:

  • EPC rating of E, F or G.
  • Household combined annual income of £30,000 or less (the Tenants income)

The scheme will fund two thirds of the cost of the measure, up to £5,000. As a private landlord you will be required to contribute 1/3rd of the cost, and any additional cost over the £5k max funding.

Solid wall insulation is an expensive measure that has not been funded to this extent before. PCC's scheme is only set to be open until September 2021, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Investing in solid wall insulation will help future-proof your property from higher Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards, and massively improve the living conditions of your tenants.

Applications to the scheme can be made online, or by phone:

We've created a quick video guide to solid wall insulation that we hope will help explain the measure in full. You can view this here:
