Key news this month is that the Homelessness Reduction Bill passed its 1st main hurdle in the House of Commons. Our own Tony Athill provided key evidence to Portsmouth South MP and Bill Committee member Flick Drummond who quoted us in the final Commons debate speaking against misguided Labour amendments that risked scuppering the Bill's progress.The Bill will totally reform the way Local Authorities treat tenants who we need to evict in a way which will benefit everyone. This private members bill is the longest ever and will be the most costly to Government. It is very unusual in having all party support and government backing as well as a consensus between all of the stakeholders with the RLA, Crisis, Shelter and others all being thanked repeatedly.
