Matt Hinks, PDPLA member and local landlord is going for a walk and wants payment for doing it!
But the good news is that it is all for a good cause - he is walking around Portsea Island on 30th May to raise money for the critical care unit at QA where he was in a coma last year...
Update: Walk successfully completed, over £1,900 raised, not too late to give, lets get Matt past £2,000...
Apparently, it was nothing to do with Pompey losing to the local team of some small town at Fratton Park last September - on the Monday Matt was having difficulty breathing, it was quickly diagnosed as non-Covid pneumonia and before you could say 'Portsmouth Football Club lost this week' he was in the Critical Care unit at QA Hospital in an induced coma.
They kept him that way until Friday, medical advice suggested it would be better to wait for Sunday so he did not have the stress of Saturday's results but the family obviously wanted him back, so he was brought around and his recuperation began.
In all he was in the critical care unit for 2 weeks and to thank all of the staff there for taking such good care of him, he is building up to a walk around Portsea Island at the end of May.
Please donate - it is a good cause - and don't forget to 'Gift Aid' (it will reduce your tax bill): Matt Hinks is fundraising for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity (justgiving.com)
