Fire Safety Course
Are Your Tenants In The Dark?
Fire Safety Course
We should all have plans to constantly improve the way we operate our letting businesses - whether just one property or many - and part of that plan should include a rolling and constant update of skills. One way to do that is formal education and in some topics, that is probably the only way to do it properly. The challenge is always to find a provider of a course that meets your need running somewhere where you can afford to attend. Occasional trips to London are unfortunately a reality for us all, as too few realise the need for formal education to justify many of the courses being run locally.
One new course which everyone should attend is being run by the RLA and, as it is an online course, you don't need to schedule in travel or commit a specific day to take the course, it is their eLearning foundation fire safety course. It costs less than £15 and full details can be found here: https://www.rla.org.uk/landlord/courses/foundation-fire-safety-online.shtml
Are Your Tenants In The Dark?
After the exploding sub-station took the power out in Portsmouth last month, did you have tenants calling you to tell you they had no power? If so, you are not alone.
We recommend you print this page and place it in the house book for each of your properties: https://preview.sse.co.uk/help/safety-and-emergencies/electrical-safety/power-cuts?fbclid=IwAR3M8sIfyDUot3OJrn-MKuDkkMmdmrd98xe0Uu_bHA5w_Zx4ETvsGrd8PU4
It is an SSE produced page with essential details on how to react and what to do in the event of a power failure.
