Infrared Camera & PAT Testing Equipment

Use of PAT testing equipment

Available to all members

We run annual education sessions for members (and others) offering training on COPISITEE (the new acronym for Portable Appliance Testing) and we also have our own equipment which members can use.

Any member who has received suitable training (whether from us or elsewhere) is able to borrow our test equipment, allowing them to check their own electrical equipment without the need to call in expensive electricians or the like.

To borrow the equipment, or to check availability, send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The process is simple, you hand over £50 when you collect the equipment and when you return it, you get your £40 deposit back and a receipt for the £10 contribution to our costs. Each year we have the machine recalibrated and the kit includes screwdrivers, spare fuses and a specialist microwave tester plus stickers for each appliance tested, showing when it was tested, when it needs to be tested again, etc

Use of Infrared Camera

Available to all members

We also have an Infrared camera which allows members to simply point and shoot to see precisely where heat is being lost on their properties. No training is required and the kit is completely standalone – just press the button and look at the picture, though you can download pictures and videos if you wish.

If you have a tenant who insists on maximum heating while the windows are open or a troublesome draught, or you just want to check for cold spots in your roof or cavity insulation – this camera is ideal.
